New Moon in Libra

Or how to initiate a new harmonious cycle!

Aerial balancing act!

On September 25th, the Moon and the Sun will be conjunct at 3° (9.54 pm UT) in the sign of Libra, meaning we’ll have a New Moon in Libra.

New Moons have always been associated with new cycles, fresh intentions and seeds. The skies of a new moon are dark: they represent all the work we have to do behind the scenes before the lights of a full moon can be switched on. We may not always see clearly but we are asked to keep going with faith and everything will align for us, at the right time. This is the preparation stage, the rehearsal preceding the premiere!

What about the archetype of Libra?

The scales of Themis, the Greek Primordial Goddess of Justice are always balanced, for nothing extreme is right. Fairness and truth are at the very core of this archetype. Libra at its best stands for beauty, diplomacy, harmony, justice, contracts, relationships and equality (after all, the Sun enters Libra to signal the Autumn Equinox!). And at its least favourable moments, it’s all about indecision, deceit, superficiality and inconsistency.

This New Moon in Libra is inviting us to reflect on what has been complicated, disorienting or where we have overindulged and given too much or too little. Time to readjust, form new (better!) plans and strategies, plant fresh seeds and take the first steps towards a goal.

As an Air Sign, Libra is also about objective thinking and examining various ideas. Here is a non exhaustive list of questions that could be interesting for this lunation:

  • What parts of my life are out of balance ?
  • Where do I find harmony on a daily basis?
  • Are my relationships based on fairness and equality? Do I give too much of my resources? Not enough?
  • In which area of my life could I use diplomacy to improve a situation?
  • If I were to start afresh, how would I act to bring peace, cohesion and unity in my life?

May this New Moon in Libra gift you serenity, equality and pleasant relationships!

He who lives in harmony with himself lives in harmony with the universe.
