Or how to shift perspectives from structure to humanity!

From March 2023 to November 2024, Pluto will waltz from Capricorn to Aquarius before settling in Aquarius for 20 years on November 19th 2024. This move is significant in astrology for several reasons, here are the two main ones: 1) Pluto stays for a very very long time in a sign, implementing profound and lasting changes; 2) as an outer planet, Pluto’s energy influences the collective more than the individual.
Pluto is far away from us on Earth and yet displays an incredible power and very valuable lessons so we can evolve as human beings. And evolution, one of the key themes of Aquarius, is rarely an easy task.
Pluto or the God of the Underworld carries within his luggage the poison of death and the potion of rebirth, the magnifying glass of instrospection, the hypnotic pendulum of charm and innate magnetism and the mirror of intensity and passion. He is, without a doubt, a powerful and profound character to deal with. He holds the keys to healing in one hand and the keys to insanity in the other. Lord of Death and Darkness, he also embodies the bringer of light and truth. Like the snake, he is both the venom and the cure, deceit and knowledge and endings (skin shedding) and new beginnings. The powers of Pluto are displayed on a large spectrum: from diving deep into our psyche and getting lost to understanding our profond psychological nature and renewing our souls; the small yet intense planet asks us to do the work. If we are willing to face demons and shadows in the dark corridors of our inner world, we’ll reap the rewards of self-knowledge, self-mastery and illumination of our inner flame.
The Aquarian archetype reveals many profiles through its kaleidoscopic view of community and humanitarianism. From social circles to trusted friends, from individuality to collectivities, from human rights to artificial intelligence and from social structures to unconventional groups, Aquarius is a complex and interesting sign. Humanity in all its forms and excesses is at the very core of the water-bearer archetype and the desire to make the world a better place is definitely intertwined with all that. Aquarius is a future-oriented sign, it is always looking for new ways to support his ever-lasting humanitarian quest. How can technology make life easier for everybody? How can machines, computers and science help humanity rise and evolve? Can we use technologies to create a new society based on equality, human rights, respect and freedom?
With all that in mind, what could be the effects of Pluto in Aquarius in the world? As always, the possibilities are infinite, from control to freedom…
- tendency to follow extreme philosophies or ways of thinking
- development of ideas and technologies to support the collective
- power struggles while collaborating on projects
- trailblazing actions to improve the wellbeing of communities of all sorts
- artificial intelligence as an even stronger tool to watch and control people
- focus on healing mental health issues and development of a more open and understanding mind
- new powerful and eccentric approaches to implement and/or respect human rights
- the guru effect: one person dominating and influencing a large group of people
- rebellion against mainstream sources of power and information and retreat to small groups
- philanthropy and healing collective traumas
- implementation of radical societal/human changes in an unhealthy or forceful way
- space-related events and information, astronomy and physics are highlighted
- psychological pressure/wars on communities
No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.
