In the Northern hemisphere, between February 1st and February 3rd, pagans, wiccans and witches celebrate Imbolc. It is the midway point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox.
As it’s still cold and wintery outside, this celebration is quite internal and personal. It represents the end of a long introspection and the will to start life again. It’s a perfect time to think about the projects you want to see blossoming. A positive outlook, faith that light is coming to us and that infinite possibilities are all around can generate incredible momentum!

On January 21st, 2023, at 8.53pm GMT, the Moon will be conjunct the Sun at 1° of Aquarius and this creates a Super New Moon in Aquarius.
This is the third New Moon in a row at 1° of a sign, meaning we’re still riding the wave of new creative energies and infinite possibilities!
This Super New Moon occurs in benevolent skies as Mercury and Mars are direct and Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius is stationing direct just a few hours after the New Moon. It means that we’re out of retrograde season, all the planets are direct for a few months and therefore the energies are faster and momentum is real!
Aquarius represents (among many other things) humanity, future plans, technologies, rebellion, individuality and newness. I feel like this New Moon resonates with a new episode for humanity and that ascension is happening whether we’re ready or not! We’re not stuck anymore, things are moving in the skies and behind the scenes, fresh territories are being discovered and we may even receive downloads from other astral realms. It’s time to focus on what we want to build as we are greatly supported by the Universe.

On January 6th 2023 at 11.03 pm (GMT), the Moon will be sitting at 16° of Cancer, opposing the Sun at 16° of Capricorn and thus creating the first Full Moon of the year!
This lunation brings to the table an immense power of understanding, working on our emotional responses and acknowledging where we could improve. The Moon in Cancer is nicely aspecting Uranus in Taurus and Neptune in Pisces: sudden a-ha moments or realisations about some emotional triggers could occur along with a healthy dose of compassion, idealism and sprituality. This Moon is also squaring Chiron, the asteroid known as The Wounded Healer and it means that we could have to revisit some old traumas and treat them with the right tools. This could be the perfect time to finally move on emotionally from something that was quite detrimental or draining so we start 2023 on a clean slate!

We finished 2022 with Mars and Mercury retrograde in Gemini and Capricorn but also with Jupiter changing sign and entering Aries. The Lunar Nodes will still be on the axis Taurus/Scorpio until July 12th, 2023 along with some eclipses before the Nodes and the eclipses reach the Aries/Libra axis.
Saturn will enter Pisces in March while Pluto slowly goes towards Aquarius. Pluto enters this sign of the Water Bearer a bit later in March, leaving exhausted Capricorn (the host of Pluto since 2008!).
We will start 2023 quite slowly and the big changes won’t be felt that strongly us until the second part of the year. A brand new year is, however, a great moment to start afresh!

Gemini: The year starts very slowly with Mars retrograde in your sign and your ruler Mercury retrograde in Capricorn but you’ll feel better as soon as Mars goes direct. Remember to rest. After Mars 25th, you’ll be able to drop the pressure as Mars will (finally!) leave your sign. Everything will feel smoother. On June 18th, a New Moon in your sign offers new beginnings or at least momentum to (re)start a project.
Cancer: The year begins quite emotionally with a Full Moon in your sign on January 6th. Jupiter in Aries will ask you to take a good look at your career goals and plans. You are supported, go for it! Mars enters your sign on March 25th and you might feel frustrated or disconnected from your heart. Don’t rush any emotional matter.
Leo: With Jupiter in fellow fire sign Aries and a Full Moon in your sign on February 5th, the year kicks off with energetic vibes. Go with the flow and if you feel adventurous, don’t shy away from new places and discoveries. On May 20th, Mars reaches your sign and will give you an extra boost of courage and passion! Make the most of it.
Virgo: Your ruler retrograde in a fellow earth sign Capricorn may make you feel slowed down or unclear about your next moves. Be patient because things will take a better turn for you after March 7th: the Full Moon in your sign will provide clarity and your projects will take off. The North Node in Taurus, a friendly earth sign may have brought lots of deep thinking about the world in general, the place you’d like to live in, beliefs about life and work etc… By July, you may settle somewhere and have the right answers.
Libra: Your partnerships and contracts are highlighted until May. Jupiter in your fellow fire sign Aries until May 16th and then Mars in your fellow fire sign Leo after May 20th make you feel strong and energetic to tackle anything you couldn’t do or finish earlier. On June 3rd, a Full Moon in Sagittarius clear away any doubts you might have felt. Keep on rocking, right timing is on your side!
Capricorn: With Mercury retrograding in your sign until January 18th, 2023, you may feel unclear about how to proceed to make you dreams come true. Communication could be less straightforward or even misleading. Don’t worry, you’ll pick up your pace later and have a better grasp on everything. On March 23rd, Pluto finally leaves your sign and will give you a good 2 months and half of relief and lightness. Time to make that move or at least the first steps, you deserve it and it will bring lots of joy! On June 11th, Pluto goes retrograde in your sign, enabling you to reassess situations and decisions and adjusting them according to your psychological wellbeing.
Aquarius: You start off the year with Venus entering your sign on January 2nd, giving you a nice glow up, personal style and confidence boost! On December 23rd at 10.16 am GMT, the Sun and the Moon (at its closest point to Earth) will be conjunct at 1° of Capricorn creating a significant Super New Moon.
The year has been under the influence of a strong square between Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus that highlighted areas of friction between the old way of doing things, the search for control and stability (Saturn) and the new way of doing, experiencing life, the rebel touch, the revolutionary one (Uranus). As the end of 2022 is approaching, this disharmonious aspect is easing up and we’ll be able to breathe some fresh air and have new perspectives as we jump into 2023!

On December 21st, the Northern Hemisphere will welcome a wonderful Winter Solstice or Yule for pagans and magick aficionados. This special time of the year has been celebrated for ages through various traditions, feasts and gatherings. In ancient Rome, they would call this celebration Saturnalia (dedicated to the God Saturn, known as a master teacher of agriculture) and would feast for days, praying to the god and celebrating seed-growing and harvests to come in the future.
The Winter Solstice is probably way less fun than it used to be in ancient Rome; it is nonetheless very meaningful. The ground is cold and most of the trees seem dead however, life is dormant and the seeds are waiting for the right time to grow and bear leaves and fruits. This is a very significant time to think about everything that is going on under the surface despite the appearance of Mother Nature. Philosophically, it can be related to big life projects, deep-rooted wishes or ideas and the concept of timing: great things emerge from the dark, take time, patience and dedication but they’re worthy!

Burn a log (or a piece of wood) to light up the longest night of the year and keep the last portion as a protective talisman until the Spring Equinox.

This lunation is not the easiest one as the Moon is exactly conjunct Mars retrograde in Gemini: frustration and impatience could show up in situations and provoke chaotic conversations! With Mercury, the ruler of Gemini being in Capricorn, the keywords in any form of communication are observation, listening, analysis and calm. On Wednesday 23rd of November, at 10:57 pm GMT, the Sun and the Moon will have a chat at 1° of Sagittarius thus creating a potent New Moon. On the same day, Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius and also the good luck, positivity and expansion planet turns direct in Pisces, a sign that suits it! It may feel like a burden is taken off of our chest or that we can finally get our head above the deep waters of introspection.
Why is this New Moon so significant?
First because it is happening right after the intense and somehow destructive Scorpio x Eclipse season. We probably had to face some deep truths, let go of situations or people in order to start again on a clean slate. It might have felt suffocating, reality shattering and a lot like, well, let’s say it, dying inside. So this New Moon works like a shot of both endorphins and dopamine and it is absolutely needed (and welcome).

Full Moons represent a time of release: the Moon shines bright over matters we must improve, situations we must move away from and toxic habits or people we must let go of. A total lunar eclipse on top of all this is like a double dose of your favourite liquor: it hits you once when you finish your glass and a second time when you least expect it!
This Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse occurs on the Taurus-Scorpio axis of the zodiac. It highlights material possessions, self-worth and self-value, comfort, love, introspection and finances.

October 31st marks the exact midpoint between the Autumn Equinox and the Winter Solstice in the Northern hemisphere. From the Celtic celebration Samhain to the trick or treat and Jack-o’-lantern displays of Halloween, this day has always carried significance and magic.
In almost every culture this date represents the thinning of the veil and the chance to connect to the other side, the realm of the dead. Whether we believe in it or not, it’s nonetheless a good time to think about our ancestors and honour them for having walked this earth before we did.
If you feel the call to celebrate Samhain, here is a ritual that does not require many tools.
Connect to your ancestors
find a picture of the person (people) you want to reconnect with or an object that belonged to them
light a white candle and grab a notebook or a piece of paper
take a few minutes to settle, breathe deeply and gaze at the flame with the intention of connecting with your passed loved one(s)
think about the guidance you want or need to receive while carrying the picture or the object and breathe deeply
if anything comes to your mind (lyrics, a word or expression, a colour, an image…), write it down or draw it because it brings answers or direction to your current situation, if you feel nothing, just thank your ancestor(s) and write a gratitude list
sit in this quiet meditative practice and keep the candle lit as long as possible
when you’re ready to go back to your day or night, put a lid on the flame to extinguish it and thank your surroundings, ancestors and yourself for taking this time
