On January 11th, at 11:57 GMT, the Sun and the Moon both at 20° of Capricorn, will gift us the first New Moon of the year 2024, a very motivated and full of potential one!

A New Moon for this New Year is so magical and potent. It’s a perfect time to set your intentions for this year or at least the next 6 months (when we have the Full Moon in Capricorn) and to take action (even tiny steps are working). In the sign of Capricorn, the emphasis is definitely on building strong foundations, being diligent and patient, working wiser not harder and keeping a tangible approach.

With 4 planets in Capricorn (the Sun, the Moon, Mars and Pluto), all our energy and drive are focussed towards our transformation, elevation and progress. There is no stagnation, we can only move forward.

The Sun and the Moon are forming a trine to Uranus in Taurus, channelling even more the energy of change and a shake-up of what does not work for us on a daily basis. What do we really want to change? Let’s plan and strategise, the timing is perfect.

Mars, the planet of action and drive is exalted in the sign of the Sea Goat and keeps its high energy levels along with some timeless Capricornian wisdom so all the tools are at hand to create a powerful change in our lives. Mars is also forming a beautiful trine to Jupiter, the planet of good luck and it seems like a rush of optimism and dynamism (and it feels good in the cold winter season). It is as if our mind and heart were saying ‘it’s possible, we can do it’ and for once, let’s ride this wave of positivity! Mars is also forming a sextile to Saturn in Pisces, easing our way towards our goals, empowering us with the wisdom of our past, ready to move on knowing which patterns are helpful and which ones are detrimental.

The Sun and the Moon are squaring the North Node in Aries and this could play out as a sort of push and pull between what we want and how we want to make it happen and the time it takes to put everything into place or motion. This aspect could trigger some impatience or restlessness along with confusion about our path. We always have the answers deep inside our souls, let’s not get carried away by the mayhem and chaos of the world and people around us. Mercury square Neptune could add a bit of a brainfog to the mix so it’s essential to work with our heart and soul and reconnect to our true values!

On December 12, at 23:31 GMT, the Sun and the Moon will be conjunct in Sagittarius, gifting us a wonderful New Moon in Sagittarius.

Sagittarius or the Archer is often associated with higher purpose, possibilities, optimism and adventures. Bold, focussed on the big picture and fun-loving, the sign of the Centaur appears unmatched when it comes to hitting its target. And a New Moon in Sagittarius seems like the perfect time to assess our goals, reflect on what we want to achieve and putting everything down on paper. Taking notes, keeping track of our dreams and progress is especially relevant considering that Mercury goes retrograde a few hours after the New Moon. Better to be safe than sorry!

This lunation has so much potential for success! The Sun, the Moon and Mars, the planet of drive, action and ambition are all having a conversation in Sagittarius, bringing fire, passion and will to any plan. The energy is gaining so much momentum, the inspiration is limitless and our goals seem so close! Mercury in Capricorn trine Jupiter in Taurus is a great aspect for expanding on the practical plane. Ideas and inspiration are amazing and they need real anchoring through actions and structure.

The Sun and the Moon trine the North Node in Aries and this is where our higher purpose meets momentum. Our collective path (North Node in Aries) is supporting our dreams and it feels like the Universe is in sync with us. Pluto in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces is a gentle reminder that our dreams and desires are valid and can be fulfilled.

Venus in Scorpio is sitting opposite Jupiter in Taurus during the New Moon and it seems like the Cosmos is telling us to trust the process while being aware of any overindulgence. It will work out for us but we need to take small, well-thought steps and to avoid excess.

New Moon in Leo

On August 16th, at 09:37 GMT, there’s an intense New Moon at 23° of Leo.

A New Moon occurs when the Sun and the Moon are conjunct in the same star sign. New Moons represent freshness, newness and beginnings and in Leo, there’s definitely a strong emphasis on fun, play and creativity. With the Sun, the Moon, Venus and Lilith in Leo, heart chakra and soul energies are coming off very strong. What lights me up? What makes my heart sing? What inspires me creatively?

This lunation highlights the ego, the personal or individual dreams and wishes but also the need to be open and flexible to change. Leo is a fixed sign that can be stubborn and stuck in its vision of a plan and in its way of doing things. Sometimes it prevents surprises or fresh perspectives from appearing. And this is when Uranus comes into play! There is a square between the Sun and the Moon (both at 23° of Leo) and Uranus at 23° of Taurus and this feels like a massive disruption in our plan. Uranus stands for sudden shifts, chaos, surprises and electricity and when it squares the Sun and the Moon it means above all that we are challenged in our very core and emotions. In other words, we may very well feel overwhelmed by chaotic or unexplainable emotions or even feel like nothing will happen as planned. And this is true. Everything will happen as it should.

Pluto in Capricorn is forming a lose trine to Uranus in Taurus and Mars in Virgo: energetic shifts are happening to support our inner growth and to put us on the right path. The trine between Mars in Virgo and Uranus in Taurus is very beneficial: despite the confusion we might face, we have the tools to take proper action and move on. Perhaps we lack a broader view of the situation, perhaps our own way of doing things is restrictive or inappropriate and all the different planets and aspects are here to help and support our soul growth.

I really feel like this New Moon in Leo is a needed restructure of our approach to action in order to be more authentic, more in tune with ourselves and more open to infinite possibilities. It’s a perfect time to set intentions based on feelings, not on results. How would like to feel?

On May 19th at 15:53 GMT, the Moon and the Sun will be conjunct at 28° of Taurus, offering us a wonderful New Moon in Taurus. This lunation occurs at the very end of the sign of the Bull and thus gives off a mature, responsible and caring energy. Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion has just moved into Taurus and is a very important ingredient to this lunation.

On March 21st 2023, at 5:17pm GMT, the Moon and the Sun will be conjunct at 0° of Aries, creating an extremely significant New Moon in Aries.

Why is this New Moon so potent and possibly life changing? Because it’s a New Moon sitting at 0°, the degree of infinite possibilities, because it’s in Aries, the sign that represents initiation, beginnings, creative forces and momentum and because it’s also happening a few hours after the Spring Equinox in the Northern hemisphere: blossoms, longer and sunnier days, fresh energy and the true astrological New Year!

Of course, there is a gazillion other reasons why this New Moon in Aries is essential in our lives especially if we want to implement a change (a sextile with Pluto in Capricorn, a loose conjunction with Neptune in Pisces, a trine with Black Moon Lilith…). However, let’s keep it short and sweet in true Aries fashion. What can we do to harness this wonderful energy?

First, let’s set intentions, and I mean for real. What is important to us? What do we want to achieve? Where do we want to go? Let’s write down a clear list of things we want to experience.
