Or how to celebrate May and warmer days!

In between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice, Beltane marks the beginning of May and the path towards summer and warmth. Days are longer, temperatures higher and the Sun is no longer hiding. In ancient traditions, Beltane or May Day was celebrated as a fertility festival and people used to feast for a few days around big fires and a May Pole covered with flowers. Known as the peak of Springtime, the month of May is associated with animals giving birth, flowers blooming and abundance.
In esoteric traditions, Beltane holds as much power as Samhain and this means that the veil between realms is thin. Connecting with your ancestors is likely to be easier at that time. May Day is also related to the awakening of Faeries: offering them milk, bread and fresh fruits was a ritual to ensure rich and abundant crops later in the year.

To reconnect with your inner sorceress or sorcerer and celebrate Beltane in true fae fashion, you can cook bread or cakes, use berries and spring greens like asparagus or peas and add a touch of lavender to your desserts. For more of ritualistic approach, here are a few tips!
- Walk barefoot in the morning dew, it is said to gift people strength and healing for the rest of the year
- Light a yellow candle and think about what you would like to experience in the coming summer months
- Do anything creative, from flowers crowns to singing: the month of May is associated with Taurus and Gemini, two art-oriented star signs
- Try divination with oracle cards and connect to your true divine nature
And as a bonus, here is cocktail recipe! For 2 glasses:
- 3 shots of gin
- 2 shots of lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon of honey
Add all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake it for 2 minutes and serve in chilled glasses. Top it with sparkling water and decorate with lemon twists. Ta-dah!
Happy Beltane everyone! May you be blessed with luck and abundance!
